Phosphating process is mostly applied for corrosion prevention or coating before painting process. Due to the comparatively high porosity, varnish, paint and oil can adhere better to the surface.

A faultless “pre-work” is required for an optimal coating result. This includes smooth surfaces and edges, clean welding seam, material free from cracks, blowholes, and other inclusions.
